Android-based Movit tablet displayed at CES

Movit tablet is a WiFi-enabled device which allows watching streaming videos, browse the web and share content on  social networks like Facebook and MySpace.  Movit device presented at Las Vegas was running the Cupcake development branch of Android or whether the Giinii developers had backported the Cupcake keyboard into a more stable Android release.

With it’s expected low price point, it was a consumer electronics gadget that caught many eyes. Some bloggers called it the Android version of the iPod touch. It’s expected to compete with the touch on pricing. The Mini version actually uses a slightly lower resolution than the touch (480 x 272 pixels versus 480 x 320) and offers just 256MB of internal storage versus 8GB for the touch’s lowest end model. You can use the Mini’s built-in microSD for memory expansion though. Movit is not expected to ship until Q3 2009 with more stable and reliable Cupcake keyboard.
